COACHING changes lives. It's true.
Coaching draws out the answers that already lie within a person. Which is dramatically different than a lot of church models out there. Where leaders, pastors, youth staff, really anyone in "ministry" feel like they need to have the answers, are responsible for those they lead and their growth.
We know that this usually not intentional, but more just taught... generation after generation.
This is not only tiring, exhausting and draining, it's really not that effective. Why? Because instead of telling people "what" to think, it's so much more powerful to provoke thought and "how" to think.
Think about Jesus... he asked a WHOLE lot of questions :) - the model of a true coach. Did he know the answers? Yes! But, he knew there was power in them thinking of the answers that were deep in them, and the answers that provoked what may be holding them back and what was also needed to move forward.
We know that coaching changes lives. How? Because first and foremost everyone here on the Life Impact Team has worked with a coach and experienced transformation and truly moving forward in becoming our true selves and really being able to help people do the same.
Also, because the coaches that have gone through our training program have expressed the same results for themselves and their clients AND the clients that we work with.
